Telecoms Dealer & Franchise Opportunities

Run your own B2B telecoms and IT business with the buying power, infrastructure and back office of SCG behind you. Opportunities across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

What the opportunity is

The model sits between a franchise and a straight reseller agreement. You run your own business and own the customer relationship; SCG supplies the products, carries the billing platform and staffs the support desk behind you. The commercial arrangement is shared margin rather than a fixed franchise fee — you price above wholesale and the profit is split, with SCG covering billing and core support.

Day to day that means you sell and advise without being left to deliver alone. Discovery and the relationship are yours; design, provisioning and long-term support are ours. There are no sales quotas — growth is rewarded with bonuses rather than enforced with targets — and there is no single-network tie-in, so what you recommend follows the customer's coverage rather than a supply agreement.

The book you build is the point. Recurring billing accumulates into an asset with a guaranteed exit value, so a dealership that starts as a way of working for yourself becomes something you can eventually sell. SCG has run a partner channel for over thirty years, across 2 Circles, New Star Networks, Hello Telecom and SCG.

Who it suits

Four routes in, and only one of them starts inside the industry.

Telecoms and IT salespeople

The most direct route in. You already know the products and the objections; what changes is that the margin and the customer relationship become yours rather than your employer’s.

Account managers leaving a channel role

If you have run a patch for a reseller or carrier, this is the same job without the quota — and the book you build becomes an asset with a guaranteed exit value rather than someone else’s pipeline.

Owners of an adjacent business

IT support, managed print, office fit-out, security installation. You already hold the relationships; telecoms and connectivity are a line you are probably referring away for nothing today.

First-time business owners

No telecoms background is assumed. Product training is provided, delivery and support sit with SCG, and you set your own pace — which is why the model suits people starting a business rather than only people leaving the industry.

Where we are recruiting

Across the whole of the UK. Directors are established in eight areas already — a city appearing on this list is an invitation to talk about it, not a claim that it is empty or that a territory is reserved.

Dealer & franchise — common questions

Which parts of the UK are open?

All of it. SCG Solutions has directors established in eight areas — Bolton, Aberdeen, Dundee, Clevedon, Wrexham, Windsor, Worthing and Shipston-on-Stour — and is open to conversations everywhere else, across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Somewhere already having a director does not close it either; the market in any city is far larger than one person.

Do I have to work a particular patch?

No. You choose your own geography or vertical, and most partners find that picking one early builds credibility and referrals faster than chasing everything. Some run a town, some run a county, and some ignore geography entirely and specialise in a sector they already know.

How is this different from a conventional franchise?

There is no fixed franchise fee and no quota. The commercial arrangement is shared margin — you price above wholesale and the profit is split, with SCG carrying billing and core support. You trade as your own business rather than operating a branch of someone else’s, which is why "dealer" describes it more accurately than "franchise", even though people search for both.

Do I need a telecoms background?

It helps but it is not assumed. Product training is free and ongoing, and the technical design, provisioning and long-term support sit with SCG rather than with you. What matters more is being comfortable in front of business owners, because the model is consultative and partner-led.

What can I actually sell?

Four pillars: business mobile and IoT across every major UK network, telephony including Microsoft Teams calling and Evonex, connectivity from broadband through to high-capacity leased lines, and cyber security with specialist support behind it. The breadth is the point — it is what lets one relationship carry several lines of recurring revenue.

Speak to Rich Williams, who runs partner recruitment and built his own partner book before doing so. He will tell you plainly whether it fits, including when it does not. The full terms, costs and a set of filmed answers to the questions people ask most are on the Become a Partner page.
