Cloud Telephony
A hosted cloud telephony solution that puts you in control — call, message and collaborate from anywhere, on any device.
Request a quoteWhat Cloud Telephony Actually Changes
Cloud telephony moves the phone system out of your building. The system itself runs in a data centre, your handsets, laptops and mobiles reach it over your internet connection, and there is no cabinet in a comms room to look after. It also breaks the link between a number and an address — numbers sit with the platform rather than on a physical line at your premises, so moving office, opening a second site or putting people on the road stops being a phone project.
We install Evonex, a hosted platform that brings voice, video and messaging together in one interface, with native Microsoft Teams integration so contacts, presence and calls stay in the app your team already has open. Gamma Horizon is the alternative where call reporting comes first — it pairs with Akixi for real-time wallboards and historical call statistics. Both are hosted, both are supported by us, and the choice comes down to how your teams actually take calls.
The connection matters more than the platform, so we check what you have before anything is ordered. Voice needs headroom for the calls you take at once and a network that can prioritise it ahead of everything else — which is why we deliver it over dedicated fibre or a managed Ethernet circuit with Quality of Service applied, rather than over a shared broadband line. Existing geographic numbers port across, so customers carry on dialling the number they already know.

The Options We Install
- Evonex hosted telephony — voice, video and messaging in one platform
- Gamma Horizon — a second hosted platform, strong on call reporting
- Microsoft Teams calling, keeping the numbers you already have
- SIP trunks, where you have an IP-capable PBX worth keeping
- NEC on-premise systems, where hosted is not the right answer
- Migration off PSTN and ISDN lines before the switch-off
Cloud Telephony — Common Questions
What is cloud telephony?
Cloud telephony is a phone system that runs in a data centre rather than on your premises. Handsets, softphones and mobiles connect to it over your internet connection, so there is no on-site hardware to maintain or upgrade, and users, numbers, routing and announcements are changed from the platform's own interface in real time rather than by an engineer on a site visit.
Which cloud telephony platforms do you install?
Evonex and Gamma Horizon. Evonex brings voice, video and messaging into one interface and has native Microsoft Teams integration. Horizon's strength is call reporting through Akixi — real-time wallboards and historical statistics — which suits businesses running call queues. Neither needs hardware on site, and which one you choose usually comes down to whether Teams integration or reporting matters more.
How disruptive is moving from our current phone system?
Your numbers do not change — existing geographic numbers port across, so customers carry on dialling the same one. Most of the work happens before the switchover: checking the connection, agreeing call routing, queues and greetings, and setting up users and handsets. We manage the deployment, and your existing service keeps running until the switchover itself.
Will our internet connection cope with the calls?
That is the first thing we check. Voice needs enough headroom for the calls you take at once — concurrency, not headcount, is what sizes it — and a network that can prioritise voice ahead of other traffic. Where that is not the case today, we deliver voice over dedicated fibre or a managed Ethernet circuit with Quality of Service applied, instead of leaving it on a shared broadband line.
Can we just use Microsoft Teams as the phone system?
Yes. There are two ways in: an Evonex Teams Voice licence, which puts the full platform — IVR, call queuing, DDI reporting — inside Teams, or Callable Direct Routing, which connects an existing Teams environment with Microsoft Phone System licences straight to the public telephone network. Your geographic numbers port across either way, including 01, 02, 03 and 08 ranges.
Do we have to move before the PSTN switch-off?
Yes, if you are still running analogue or ISDN lines. The UK's PSTN network switches off in January 2027 and those lines stop working then, so voice has to be on IP before the deadline. Cloud telephony is one route. SIP trunks are the other, if you have an IP-capable phone system you would rather keep — either way, your numbers come with you.
