Your Voice, Video and Messaging in One Place

Evonex is a leading hosted telephony platform that brings your voice, video and messaging together in one place. Whether your team works from the office, home or on the road, Evonex keeps everyone connected through a single, intuitive interface.

With native Microsoft Teams integration, you can manage contacts, check presence and make calls without switching platforms — everything your team needs in one place.

What changes day to day is smaller than the feature list suggests, and more useful. An extension stops belonging to a desk and starts belonging to a person, so somebody working from home is on the same number and transfers calls the same way as they would in the office. Adding a user is a change made in a portal rather than an engineer visit. And a second site becomes an extension range on the same system rather than a second system to reconcile.

It is worth being clear about what it does not fix. Evonex will not improve a bad internet connection — voice needs very little bandwidth but is unforgiving about jitter, so a contended line that streams video acceptably can still make calls sound poor. Where that is the situation the honest first step is the connection rather than the phone system, and we would rather establish it at the survey than have you discover it after the move.

Evonex Hosted Telephony — Common Questions

Can I keep my existing phone numbers with Evonex?

Yes. Existing geographic numbers port across to Evonex, so your customers carry on calling the number they already have and nothing printed becomes wrong. Porting is paperwork rather than technology — the usual cause of delay is details on the request not matching what your current supplier holds, which is why we check them against your bill rather than asking you to recall them.

Does Evonex work with Microsoft Teams?

Yes. Evonex has native Teams integration, so you can check presence, manage contacts and place calls without leaving Teams. Whether that is the right route depends on whether your staff genuinely live in Teams all day — where they do it removes an application from their screen, and where they do not it adds a licence for a benefit nobody uses.

Do I need to buy new handsets?

No. Evonex runs on softphones and mobile apps as well as desk phones, so you can start with the devices your team already uses and buy handsets later for whoever genuinely wants one. In practice most businesses end up with a mix — desks that take calls all day get a physical phone, and everybody else uses the app.

Is hosted telephony the same as a cloud phone system?

Yes — they are two names for the same thing. The phone system lives in the provider’s data centre rather than in a cupboard at your office, and you reach it over your internet connection.

Is hosted telephony the same as hosted PBX?

Effectively, yes. Hosted PBX is the older term for the same arrangement: the private branch exchange that used to sit in a cupboard on your premises is run as a service instead. The practical difference from the old model is that upgrades, resilience and capacity stop being things you buy hardware for and start being things included in what you already pay.

What do I need in place before installation?

A business-grade internet connection with enough headroom for your concurrent calls, and a network that can prioritise voice traffic. We check both before install — that is usually the difference between good and poor call quality.

Can I get professional recordings for my greetings and hold messages?

Yes — VoicePro produces bespoke recordings for your auto attendant, on-hold and out-of-hours messages, with a large library of professional voices, languages and licence-free music to draw on. It saves recording them yourself and keeps out-of-hours messaging current.

What handsets can I have with Evonex?

A range of Cisco desk phones with colour displays and 4 to 10 programmable line keys, expansion modules where someone needs more keys, DECT handsets covering roughly 50m indoors and 300m outdoors with up to 8 handsets per base, conference units, and a video-capable option. Plus softphone and mobile apps if you would rather not have hardware at all.
