Managed IT Services
Managed IT support from SCG: a UK service desk, Microsoft 365 administration, proactive monitoring, device management and recoverable backups under one agreed support scope.
Request a quoteIT that is watched, not just fixed
Managed IT means the whole job sits with us: the help desk your staff ring, the patching nobody gets round to, the backups, and the monitoring that notices a problem before anyone reports it. You keep a named local director as your point of contact rather than a ticket queue and a different engineer every time. It can run as a complete outsourced IT department, or alongside an in-house team that needs cover for the parts it cannot reach.
Reliability rests on backup you can restore from quickly. Hardware failure, a power loss and a ransomware event all end the same way, with data pulled back from off-site copies held in data centres built to survive fire and power loss, staffed and secured around the clock. Security runs continuously rather than at review time, with a live threat team watching year-round and techniques such as ransomware canaries and persistent-foothold detection used to catch an intruder who is already past the perimeter. Neither is worth much without visibility, so every networked device is inventoried, monitored and reported on, down to its patch status.
Microsoft 365 administration is part of the operating model, not a licence-renewal exercise. We agree how users are onboarded, changed and removed; apply identity and access policy; review privileged roles; and connect device support to the accounts people use. That gives joiners what they need promptly and removes access cleanly when somebody leaves, instead of allowing forgotten accounts and permissions to accumulate.
The boundary is written down before service starts. SCG can own the service desk, monitoring, patch policy, backup checks, Microsoft 365 administration and supplier coordination; your team remains responsible for approving access, telling us about starters and leavers, classifying business data and making commercial decisions. A shared responsibility schedule records what sits with SCG, what remains with your team and what stays with a specialist application vendor.
How it works day to day
Unlimited 24/7 help desk
Your staff contact UK support directly, as often as they need, for anything from installing new software to a machine that will not log in. No rationing of calls and no waiting for office hours.
Live threat monitoring
A security team watches your estate 24/7/365, using ransomware canaries and persistent-foothold detection to find attackers who are already inside rather than only those testing the edge.
Backup and rapid restore
Your data is copied off-site to facilities designed to keep running through a physical incident, so a failed server or an encrypted file share becomes a restore rather than a rebuild.
Who we work with
We are independent of any single network or vendor, so the recommendation follows the requirement.

Managed IT Services — Common Questions
What is the difference between managed IT and ordinary IT support?
Ordinary support waits for something to break and then fixes it. Managed IT adds the continuous half of the work - monitoring every networked device, keeping software patched, running backups and watching for threats around the clock - so fewer faults ever reach the point where someone has to raise a ticket.
Do we have to hand over all of our IT?
No. It can run as a complete outsourced IT department, or cover only the parts an in-house team cannot reach, such as out-of-hours support, security monitoring, backup or device management. The scope is agreed to fit the business and adjusted as requirements change.
How does managed IT help against ransomware?
In two ways. Detection comes from continuous monitoring by a live threat team, using ransomware canaries and persistent-foothold detection to spot an attack in progress; recovery comes from cloud backups held in secure data centres, which can be restored quickly if files are encrypted.
What happens during managed IT onboarding?
We inventory users, devices, Microsoft 365 roles, business applications, suppliers, backups and known risks, then agree priorities and escalation routes. The output is a support scope and responsibility schedule rather than an assumption that every system immediately becomes ours to change.
What remains with your team after outsourcing IT support?
Your organisation still approves access, reports starters and leavers, decides who may see business data and owns commercial choices. SCG runs the technical work listed in the agreed scope and coordinates named suppliers. That shared responsibility avoids both gaps and unexpected changes.
What should we prepare before you enquire?
Bring an approximate user and device count, office and remote-working locations, the Microsoft 365 tenant contact, important applications, current support suppliers, known recurring problems and the recovery priorities for critical data. Exact records are not required; discovering the gaps is part of onboarding.

Where we cover managed it services
We deliver this across the UK. These 8 are where a director is actually based — each page names who you would be dealing with, and what the local economy is made of.
Talk to a named local director
Tell us what your IT looks like now and where it hurts. You will deal with one local SCG director who stays with your account instead of a call queue, and who can bring in connectivity, cloud and security from the same group when you need them.
