How quickly does GSM failover kick in?
Switchover is automatic and happens within seconds, without manual intervention, so calls and cloud sessions stay up while the primary line is restored. Calls already in progress may drop as the path changes; the next one connects normally. The important part is that nobody has to be present or awake for any of it to happen.
Can GSM be my main connection?
Yes. For temporary sites, events and rural premises where fixed-line options are limited or slow to install, 4G and 5G are often the practical primary connection — a circuit can be live in days rather than the months a fixed install can take. It is also the standard answer for a new office waiting on a leased line.
What if there is no signal where our router is?
Very common, because comms cupboards tend to sit in the worst-served part of a building. An external aerial mounted where the signal is good and cabled back to the router resolves most cases. It is worth establishing at survey rather than after installation, since it changes what the install involves and who needs to attend.
