The Missing Piece of Your Communications

Your team already uses Microsoft Teams for chat, video and file sharing, so running a separate phone system alongside it is duplication. An Evonex Teams Voice licence merges hosted telephony into the Teams desktop and mobile apps, giving you full voice capability without switching platforms. Routing plans and telephony features carry across with the numbers, and there is no expensive hardware to buy.

There are two routes in, and the deciding factor is usually licensing. Callable Direct Routing suits businesses that already hold Microsoft Phone System licences: it connects the Teams environment you run today to the public phone network. Evonex Teams Voice does not need them, adding hosted telephony to the Teams apps instead, so calls are made and received inside Teams with your numbers, routing and features intact.

Whichever route you take the feature set is the same, so the choice is about licensing rather than what your people end up using. We manage the deployment end to end — porting the numbers, moving the routing and cutting over — and your existing service keeps running while that happens. Resilience is applied at DDI level, so continuity plans can be built around the numbers your business actually depends on.

Microsoft Teams Calling — Common Questions

Which route should we choose — Evonex Teams Voice or Callable Direct Routing?

It usually comes down to Microsoft Phone System licences. If you already hold them, Callable Direct Routing connects the Teams environment you run today to the public phone network. If you do not, an Evonex Teams Voice licence adds hosted telephony to the Teams apps without them. Both give you calling inside Teams on desktop and mobile.

Can we keep our existing phone numbers?

Yes. Geographic numbers port across to Teams calling, and 01, 02, 03 and 08 ranges are all supported. Your routing plans and telephony features move with them, so the numbers your customers already dial keep working and internal call flows behave as they do now. Porting is part of the deployment we manage.

Do we still need a separate phone system?

No. Calls are made and received in the Teams desktop and mobile apps, so chat, video, file sharing and voice all sit in one place. There is no expensive hardware to buy, and call handling is managed through a single reporting platform rather than in a separate phone system alongside Teams.

Do we need a Microsoft calling plan as well?

No. Both routes provide the connection to the public phone network themselves, so a Microsoft calling plan is not part of the setup. Direct Routing uses Phone System licences you already hold, and Evonex Teams Voice does not need those either. Costs depend on user numbers and call volumes, so we quote per business rather than publish a price.

What happens to calls if something fails?

Resilience is applied at DDI level, so failover is configured per number rather than only for the site as a whole. Continuity plans are built around how your business actually takes calls, so we agree in advance where each number should go when a route is unavailable.
