It has to carry far more traffic, hold hundreds of devices at once — laptops, phones, tablets, printers, card terminals, cameras, handheld scanners — and give each of them the right level of access. That means designing the wireless as part of the network rather than plugging a box into the broadband router and hoping.
Most poor Wi-Fi is a design problem. Dead spots between offices, drop-outs crossing a yard and devices clinging to a distant access point usually trace back to where the access points were put and how they were configured, not to the internet connection behind them. How is business Wi-Fi different from the router my broadband came with?
A consumer router covers a small area from one point and gives everyone the same access. A business wireless network uses several access points designed around the building, keeps guest and corporate devices apart, and can prioritise traffic so busy periods do not take down the applications you depend on. It is also managed centrally rather than reset by hand whenever something misbehaves.
Why does the signal drop when people move around the site?
Drop-outs when crossing a yard, a stairwell or the gap between two offices are almost always down to access point placement or configuration rather than the internet connection itself. A survey shows where coverage actually stops, and the design that follows says what needs adding, moving or reconfiguring to close the gap.
Can you cover warehouses, outdoor areas and construction sites?
Yes. We supply access points suited to large and awkward spaces, including warehouses, shop floors, school and college buildings, construction sites and external areas, and lay the coverage out around them. Where existing cabling will not reach the access point positions, structured cabling or fibre is installed as part of the same job.
